Cloud Expo Asia and Data Centre World Asia 2014 welcome over 9,000 delegates in second year


Singapore, 31 October 2014 ? Over 9,000 international delegates packed the two-day Cloud Expo Asia and Data Centre World Asia 2014 events in Singapore ? almost doubling last year's attendees. In its second year in the Asian market, the event brought together leading suppliers, manufacturers, investors and influential industry leaders at the Suntec Exhibition Centre on the 29th and 30th October 2014. Co-located at the same venue was CloudAsia, co-organised with the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). 

Cloud Expo Asia 2014 hosted an enviable line-up of 200 conference speakers and over 200 international brands.

Highlights at the second day of the event included an opening address from Professor Roy Campbell, Head of Computer Science at the University of Illinois, in the Cisco Keynote theatre. Campbell emphasised the crucial role academia has to play in educating the next generation of cloud professionals. He explained that the introduction of MOOC cloud-specific courses would help widen understanding and enthusiasm for these emerging technologies.

The second day also included packed sessions in the Security and Governance Theatre. An expert line-up discussed how to effectively manage cloud security strategy, mitigating advanced threats, and deploying new technologies to deliver intelligence and visibility.

The Big Data and Analytics conference stream also attracted great enthusiasm from delegates. Raju Chellam, Head of Cloud and Big Data at Dell, spoke to an audience of CIOs highlighting the benefits of ABC (Analytics, BYOD & Cloud) to fully empower their businesses. 

Exhibitors at Data Centre World Asia included leading regional and international brands such as Dell, Cisco, Huawei, Datwyler, Panduit, Brocade and Pacnet, and many others, all sharing their expertise on a range of topics including infrastructure, power, cooling, and consultation.

?The event has been a huge success: 96% of the exhibition space from this year has been rebooked for 2015, 12 months before the next event is even due to take place,? said Phil Nelson, Commercial Director at CloserStill Media.

Cloud Expo Asia and Data Centre World Asia will return to the Suntec Exhibition Centre next year on the 28th and 29th October.
